Games & Activities for Brownie Girl Scouts

Brownie Girl Scouts are girls age six to eight and second to third grades. The girls work together to earn awards and explore their community. Plan your next Brownie Girl Scout meeting with entertaining activities for the young girls. Activities give the girls a chance to get to know one another and make new friends.
  1. Balloon Activities

    • Divide the girls into two teams and have each team stand in a single file line facing each other. Tell the girls to sit down with their legs stretched out in front of them -- each girl's feet should be touching the feet of the girl across from her. Toss a balloon up in the air and have the girls try to kick it over the heads of the players on the other team. They cannot use their hands to stop the balloons. Each time a girl kicks a balloon over the other team, her team earns a point. The first team to reach five points wins the activity. Make the activity more difficult by adding more than one balloon at a time.

    Memory Games

    • Have the girls sit in a circle and select one person to go first. If her name is Brittany, for instance, she must say, "My name is Brittany and I am a Brownie Girl Scout." The next girl, whose name might be Mary, must say, "My name is Mary and Brittany is my Girl Scout friend. Each girl must say her name and repeat each girl's name in front of her. Keep playing and having the girls help each other remember names if they forgot. For an additional element, eliminate the girls if they cannot remember someone's name or if the say the names out of order. The last girl to remember all the names correctly wins the game.

    Bingo Activities

    • Make bingo cards with words from the Girl Scout Law and Promise, such as respect, honest, friendly, helpful and considerate. Write the same words on small slips of paper and place them in a bowl. Give the girls candy pieces to use as bingo markers. Call out the words and have the girls mark their cards. The first girl to get a bingo and yell, "I love the Girl Scouts," wins the game. For another variation, use Girl Scout related words like cookies, camping, badges and uniforms.

    Girl Scout Trivia

    • Write down several questions about Girl Scouts on slips of paper and place them in a bowl. Have the girls sit in a circle around the bowl. One at a time a girl will grab a question from the bowl and try to answer it for one point. The girl with the most points at the end of the game wins. Ask questions like, "What grades are Brownie Girl Scouts" and "What is the Girl Scout slogan?" You can also play this game in teams and ask the teams things like, "Can two of you girls show me the Girl Scout handshake?"
