Instructions
Transform gems that you wish to socket by placing them into the gem maker. Slide them into into the slots with the gem's corresponding color, one at a time. Gem colors are red, yellow, orange, green, cyan, blue and purple.
Upgrade the gem by using corresponding low-level grinding gems as payment. There are incomplete and complete gems. Incomplete gems cannot be used for setting into equipment sockets, but you can upgrade them to complete gems by using grinding gems that are of a lower level. High-level grinding gems are required when you wish to upgrade a gem into an inspiring gem. Grinding gems cannot be placed into equipment or weapons.
Upgrade complete gems by setting them into the gem slot of the gem making screen. You can also receive complete gems from the chest or by buying the gem bag in the shop. Some gems of various values can be obtained by killing monsters or dropping bags, depending upon your location and quest. For example, gain uncommon gem shards by killing monsters in the Rain Hill area.
The 10 levels of a gem are:
Shard
Broken
Cracked
Gem
Flawed
Ordinary
Flawless
Excellent
Outstanding
Inspiring
Set the gem level number, from one through five. If you set the number to five, the success rate for the upgrade will be 100 percent. Upgrade success is not guaranteed. If upgrades do not succeed, the gem will explode or disappear. You can prevent main gems from vanishing by placing an explosion-proof stone in the assistant-item slot in the gem maker before you grind the main gem, in case the upgrade does not succeed.
Place the equipment you want to socket into the "Setting" column. This will open the grid on the right side of the screen within the gem making device. Set the gem within the corresponding color in the equipment slot. When the first grid is set, the next grid will become available. Turn the setting to "add more slots" if you want to add more gems in the gem making device.
