Instructions
Start on the lowest setting. Move your body in opposite motion of the barrel bull. For example, when it moves back, move your torso forward. When it moves forward, move your body to the back.
Tighten your legs around the base of the barrel to keep them securely in place and to help maintain your balance. Position your legs more toward the front of the bull than the back.
Hold onto the bull with one hand, if allowed. Most mechanical bulls have handles for grabbing onto while riding. Some establishments allow riders to hold onto the handle with one hand, while others allow two hands.
Hold your chin down and position your face forward as you ride. This can actually help keep you on the bull longer and will also help direct you to a softer fall.
Move your free hand in front or above you as you ride. This helps with direction and balance and also helps guide you to a softer fall.
