Directions On How to Play Jenga

Jenga is a tower-building game that utilizes wooden blocks. After constructing the initial tower, players must remove Jenga pieces one at a time from within the tower and return them to the top of the tower. Excitement builds as the tower grows higher and less stable. Removing the wrong wooden block will result in the Jenga tower crashing to the ground and the end of the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Set-up the Jenga blocks. Place three Jenga blocks side by side on the table. Stack three more Jenga blocks on top of the first set facing in the opposite direction. For example, the first three blocks would face west to east, and the next three would be placed on top facing north to south. Continue this pattern until you have a Jenga tower that is 18 stories high.

    • 2

Start with the player that was kind enough to construct the Jenga tower. Remove one Jenga block from any of the stories within the tower, except the top story. Place the block on top of the tower facing in the opposite direction of the uppermost set of blocks.

    • 3

Repeat with the player to the left of the starting player. Each player must wait 10 seconds after he has removed and replaced a Jenga block on the tower to see if the tower is going to fall.

    • 4

Continue taking turns in a clockwise fashion until the tower falls. The last player to successfully remove and stack a Jenga block is the winner of the game.
