How to Easily Catch Pokemon With the Buttons on Pokemon SoulSilver

Pokemon are found throughout the Pokemon series of games. One of the primary objectives of the series is to catch wild Pokemon, train them and compete against other Pokemon trainers in competitions of strength and strategy. These wild Pokemon are captured through a two-stage process of battling to weaken the wild Pokemon, then throwing a pokeball at them. The pokeball is used to capture and transfer control of the Pokemon to the trainer. Both these actions are accomplished in the game through use of sub-menus, controlled by the buttons on the Nintendo DS.

Instructions

  Find tall grass, caves or water where Pokemon naturally reside. You will know when you are in a Pokemon-inhabited area when you begin to encounter Pokemon in battle.

  Fight wild Pokemon you encounter in battle with your own party of Pokemon.

  Use the "A" button or tap the touch screen to select your Pokemon's attacks in order to weaken the wild Pokemon.

  Select a pokeball out of your items menu with the "A" button on your Nintendo DS after you have weakened the target Pokemon with your Pokemon's attacks.

  Cast your pokeball at the wild Pokemon after selecting your pokeball from your menu with your d-pad. Use the "A" button to cast the pokeball. This will capture the Pokemon.
