How to Have Two People on the PlayStation Network at Once From One PlayStation 3

The PlayStation network is one of the largest to provide a variety of games for free every day. The network allows two users to play from one PlayStation 3, which is useful if a friend is over at your house and you don't want to take turns playing games. Grab a second controller and bring up the two-player split screen so you both can join in the fun.

Instructions

  Turn on your PlayStation 3 and log onto the PlayStation Network with the main controller. Click the Round "PS" button located in the center of the controller to activate the controller for use.

  Select the game you want to play in the "Games" menu and join in the game lobby. The screen will display the main controller's PlayStation Network name and game rank on the list.

  Click the round "PS" button in the center of the second controller to turn it on. The red lights will begin flashing and remain solid once the controller is on.

  Click the "X" button on the second controller to load the split screen. The PlayStation Network name for the first controller player will display on the screen twice; once with a [2] behind it. For instance, the name Gamer123 would show as Gamer123 for first controller and Gamer123[2] for the second controller.
