Lightning McQueen Game Ideas for Crafts

If your child is a fan of Lightning McQueen, the red race car from the Disney movie "Cars," you can host a Lighting McQueen party theme for him and his friends. Create a variety of crafts for the guests to do and turn the crafts into exciting games. The guests can take home the crafts as a memento of the party, as well as have a chance to earn more prizes by creating the best craft at the party.
  1. Drawing Contests

    • For an easy contest, have all the guests sit around a table. Give each guest a Lightning McQueen coloring page. Place markers and crayons on the table for the guests to use. Award a prize to the guest with the best coloring page. For another drawing contest, have the guests draw Lightning McQueen free handed. You can hang a picture of the race car for the children to look at while drawing the car or have them use their imaginations. Award prizes to the best and most creative drawings.

    Car Crafts

    • Give the children cardboard boxes, construction paper, stickers, paint, empty paper towel rolls, empty toilet paper rolls, markers and crayons. Tell the guests to make their own Lightning McQueen race car. Set a timer for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, award prizes to the most creative and most realistic Lightning McQueen cars. For added fun, take the cars outside on a hard surface and see which race car will travel the farthest with one push. Award a small prize to the winner.

    Racetrack Crafts

    • Ask the guests to sit around a table and give each guest a large sheet of construction paper. Guests have 15 minutes to draw a racetrack on the sheet of construction paper. After 15 minutes, have each guest share his picture and talk about his racetrack. Award prizes for the most creative and best racetracks. For another racetrack activity, give the children boxes, tape, stickers, card stock and markers to make a racetrack. Divide the children into teams and have them work together. Award a prize to the team who builds the best racetrack.

    Candy Car Crafts

    • Tell the guests to make a candy race car using miniature candy bars, packs of gum, peppermints, stickers and tape. For younger children, give them a hint by telling them to use the peppermints as wheels and large packs of gum as the body of the car. For older children, let them use their imagination and creativity to create a Lightning McQueen candy car. Award prizes to all the best and most creative cars. Turn this craft into a game by seeing which car will travel the farthest distance on a hard, slick surface.
