Domino Rally Pressman Directions

Domino Rally is a domino game produced by Pressman Toys in the late 1980s and early '90s. Players set up colorful plastic dominoes, a rocket and a launchpad. Then they can simply push the first domino and watch it set off a chain reaction -- all leading up to a rocket launch finale. This game is designed for ages 6 and up and is fun for the whole family to play.

Instructions

  1. Tower Frame Assembly

    • 1

Place the rocket's body into the rocket base as far as it will go without forcing it. Set the rocket aside.

    • 2

Place the triangle labels on both sides of the tower frame halves, at the top. Slide the latch posts into the notches on the slide, then set the lower tower frame on a flat surface.

    • 3

Insert the numbered signs into the three posts from top to bottom; place them in descending order.

    • 4

Grab the slide and latch and hold them sideways. Then lower the slide onto the lower half of the frame. Post "A" on the bottom of the slide should slide right into slot "B." Check the slide to make sure it slides up and down in the lower frame easily.

    • 5

Move the slide toward the top of the frame as the arrows indicate. Hold the top half of the frame at an angle and position it over the lower half. Then slide tab "C" into the "D" notch. Now press down on the bottom of the top frame. Slide post "E" into the indicated hole. Set this assembled part aside.

    Launchpad Assembly

    • 6

Turn the launchpad upside down and place it on a flat surface. Slide the trigger button, larger end first, through the launchpad opening, allowing the posts to sit on the notches.

    • 7

Slide the notch end of the leaf spring underneath the retaining tab on the base. Lower the opposite end of the spring to the tab, then press down and snap the lock into place.

    • 8

Turn the launchpad right side up. Insert the larger post into the notched space. Press down until the short post slides into the other notch. Check to make sure both posts have locked into place; the lever should move up and down easily. Place the two remaining levers into the remaining two notched areas on the launchpad.

    • 9

Hold the two halves of the tower together and position it over the notches on the launchpad. The flags should be facing the forward end of the launchpad. Now insert the four locking tabs into the notches. Press down until the tabs lock correctly into place.

    • 10

Position the rocket over the launchpad. Make sure the square hole in the base of the rocket is facing toward the front of the launchpad. Press the rocket firmly into the launchpad until it snaps into place and locks securely. Now lift the three levers up and place them next to the rocket fins.

    Launching the Rocket

    • 11

Hold the steel ball on the top of the frame steady with one hand, then lift the slide lever up with the other. Pull the lever back toward you into the "Up" position.

    • 12

Release the steel ball slowly. The raised lever should hold it in place.

    • 13

Watch as the dominoes fall. When the last domino falls against the slide lever, the steel ball will release, causing it to fall into the lower frame. This will trigger the flags in descending order. The steel ball then hits the trigger button and launches the rocket. Releasing the three levers outward sets off a reaction of tumbling dominoes.
