Snake in the Grass
This is a treasure-hunt game for any tomboy who loves the outdoors. First, hide some jump ropes throughout a grassy area. These "snakes" should be hidden apart from one another. There should be about five to seven "snakes," depending on how many players there are. Gather all the players together in an open area such as a park, field or backyard. Shout, "Find those snakes!" Once they hear the cue, the girls have to search for the snakes. The girl with the most snakes wins.
Pin the Hat on the Cowboy
This is a twist on the classic "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" game. Print out a large picture of a cowboy. Cut the cowboy's hat from the picture, or create a hat, and photocopy it several times. Next, cut out the hats and place double-stick tape to the back of each one. Give a hat to each of the players. Tape the cowboy to a wall and have the players line up. Blindfold the player at the front of the line, who will then try to place the hat on the cowboy's head. After each player has had a turn, determine whose hat is the closest to fitting the cowboy's head. That person is the winner.
Squirt Gun Showdown
This is a good game for girls who aren't afraid to get wet and muddy. First, set up two goals using either soccer goals or markers such as cones. Then select two players to go first. Give each player a high-powered squirt gun. Shout, "Go" and throw a beach ball in between the two players. The players must squirt their guns at the ball and try to push it into their opponent's goal while guarding their own. The players may not use their hands at any time. Once one player scores a goal, the other player is out and another player comes in to challenge her. The last girl standing is the winner.
Knights vs. the Dragon
This is a great game for any girls who like dragons and knights. First, select one player to be the "dragon." The remaining players are the knights. The dragon stands in the middle of the playing area while the knights line up with their hands against a wall. When the dragon is ready, she yells in her most dragon-like voice, "I dare you to cross the moat!" When she says this, the other players try to run as fast as they can past the dragon and to the adjacent wall. If the dragon tags one of the knights, this girl becomes part of the dragon's tail by holding onto the first dragon with one hand. The dragon dares the knights to cross once more but, this time, both of the dragon players can try to tag knights. This continues until the dragon gets bigger and bigger and there is only one knight left. This brave girl is the winner.
