Easy Games
For an easy game, have the players sit in a circle and give one player a plush Yogi Bear toy. Play some music and tell the player to pass Yogi Bear around the circle. When the music stops, the player holding the bear is out of the game. Keep eliminating one player each round. The last player in the game wins the Yogi Bear plush toy. For another easy game, put a twist on the classic "pin the tail on the donkey" with a game of "pin the picnic basket on Yogi's hand." The player who pins the picnic basket closest to the correct spot on Yogi's hand wins the game.
Tossing Games
Place a picnic basket on the ground and mark a standing line 10 feet from the basket. Give each player five pieces of fake food to try to toss in the basket. Fake food is available online and at most toy stores. Award prizes to players getting any food into the picnic basket. Try another tossing game of "Feed Yogi." Tape a large poster of Yogi Bear to the bottom of a cardboard box and cut out his mouth. Lean the box up against a wall and have the players try to toss the fake food into Yogi's mouth. Award prizes to players getting food into his mouth.
Hunt Games
For a simple hunt game, print several pictures of Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo, his sidekick. Hide the pictures in the play area. The player who finds the most pictures of Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo wins the game. For another hunt, hide plastic Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo toys in the play area. Give players a small paper sack and have them hunt for the toys. The player who finds the most toys wins the game. For added fun, mark a star on some of the toys. Players who find those toys also win prizes.
Relay Races
Mark a starting and run-to line 20 feet apart. Divide the players into two teams and have them line up at the starting line. When you say "Race," the first player in each team line must bear crawl (on all four, with bottom in the air) to the run-to line and back to the finish line. Each team player must do the same thing. The first team to finish the race wins the game. For another relay race, give the first player in each team line a picnic basket. Place a basket of fake food on a table at the run-to line. Each player must race to the table and put one piece of fake food in the basket. All players must add one piece of food to the basket before returning the picnic basket to the next player in line. The first team to finish the race wins the game.
