Color Your World
Use the crops and trees to create simple designs on your farm. For temporary pictures, plant your crops in a pattern. For example, plant a star shape in corn to grow a yellow star. Be sure to harvest your crops and replant them to continue the shape. For longer lasting pictures or designs, use flowers that don't wilt.
Create a Hill
The virtual landscape in "Farm Town" is flat. To create the illusion of a hill, place a hedge near the back corner of the farm. Place a flower behind the hedge, one space away from the hedge and one space toward the back of the farm. Place a second flower in front of the hedge, one space away from the hedge and one space forward. Place a second hedge perpendicular to the first hedge and place flowers in the same relationship as the first hedge. Continue to place hedges and flowers until the corner blocks off the rest of the farm. Create a second line of hedges to build a taller hill.
Create a Beach
Create an ocean first. Place a corner river on your farm. Place four pieces of dirt path over the edge of the water where it touches the rest of the farm. The dirt connects the farm to the water. Place a second piece of water on top of the dirt path. Move the pieces of dirt path so that they connect the new piece of water to the land. Place a third square of water on top of the moved path and repeat until the edge of your farm meets water. Place strips of light-colored dirt path parallel to the edge of the water. Place enough dirt to create a thick beach. Add palm trees to complete the tropical look.
Create a Waterfall
A "Farm Town" waterfall combines the skills of creating a hill and creating an ocean. First, make a hill on your farm. Make the hill two or three levels high. Place river sections on the top of your hill so that the water abuts one section of hedge. Remove the section of hedges from your hill where the river meets the hedge. Remove one section of hedge from each level so the hole lines up from the top of your hill to the bottom. Place a corner section of river in the empty space left by the hedge. Place four pieces of dirt path along the bottom edge of the corner of water. The dirt path should connect the water to the land. Place a second corner section of the river directly below the first, lining the section up so the edges are straight. Continue until you reach the bottom of your hill. Finish the waterfall with new sections of river or by creating a lake.
