How to Create a Scorecard for Multiple Games

If you are playing games online, or if you are keeping score for multiple after-school games, you might consider creating a multi-game scorecard with Microsoft Excel. Excel provides spreadsheet workbooks that you can customize with team names, inning numbers, scoring percentages and other important statistics. Bring your laptop along with you to the tennis courts, baseball diamond or hockey rink. You can also print your scorecard on your home printer.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Microsoft Excel. Open a new spreadsheet for your multi-game scorecard.

    • 2

Click on cell "A1." The A column will serve as your Team Name column. Type "Teams" in this cell, and press "Enter" twice so that you cursor arrives in cell "A3."

    • 3

Type the first team name in cell "A3." Add a second team in cell "A4."

    • 4

Click cell "B1." This will serve as your first quarter or innings cell. If you are keeping track of a basketball game, type "Q1." If you are keeping track of a baseball game, type "1." Continue formatting cells "C1," "D1," "E1," and on down the line until you have accounted for all of the game-play sections of the sport being played.

    • 5

Locate the "Sheet1" tab at the bottom of the page. Double-click it so that it is highlighted. Type the name of the sport.

    • 6

Click "Sheet2." Double-click the tab so that it is highlighted. Type the name of the second sport you are recording. Repeat this step with Sheet3. Then, format Sheets 2 and 3 the same way you have formatted Sheet1. You will have a scorecard on each sheet.
