Things You'll Need
Instructions
Choose your flavor. Any kind of ice cream can be used to make a Texas snowball; however, plain flavors such as vanilla or chocolate work best. Since they have no fruit or nuts inside they can be formed more easily. Also, choosing a light-colored ice cream, such as vanilla, facilitates clean up and helps avoid stains.
Scoop one or two scoops of ice cream onto a baking tray. These scoops determine the size of your "snowball." Less than one scoop will be too small to form, but any more than two might result in a "snowball" that's hard to handle.
Place the scoops inside a plastic bag and roll it in your hands, forming a tight ball from the scoops. The bag will help keep ice cream off your hands and will help keep your hands warm. A bag is better than gloves since the ice cream won't stick to a bag and gloves can become stained.
Remove the Texas snowball from the bag and place it on a tray in the freezer. Continue to make snowballs until you have plenty of "ammunition." Keep these snowballs in the freezer until you are ready for the showdown.
