Instructions
Position the fence on the table saw to be 7/8 inches away from the blade, and raise the blade to a height of ½ inch. Run the 12-inch boards across the blade once, keeping the 12-inch edge against the fence. The grooves created here will hold the top to your horseshoe case.
Set the 12-inch boards on edge, parallel, seven inches apart and with the grooves facing each other and aligned. The grooves should each be five inches off the ground. Set the seven-inch boards perpendicularly between them on edge and spaced 10 inches apart. Screw through the 12-inch boards and into the ends of the 7-inch boards. The corners should be flush. Use eight screws for this task.
Turn the frame over so the grooves are closer to the ground and lay your 9x12-inch plywood on top of the frame so the edges are flush. Screw the plywood down using eight screws.
Drill two ¼-inch holes through one of the 12-inch boards. The holes should be 4 inches apart, each 4 inches away from the ends of the board and 3 inches away from the edges of the board. Insert the ends of the rope through the holes and tie a knot at each end to keep the rope from pulling out. This is the handle to your horseshoe case.
Slide the 8x12-inch plywood in the grooves that were cut in the first step. This sheet will keep your horseshoes inside the case when you carry it.
