American Trucker Games

Trucks are a common sight on the roads of America -- huge vehicles used to transport goods from state to state. Several games aim to recreate the thrills and spills of life on the freeway. American trucker games are available across a variety of formats. Some of these games have been designed with the input of real-life American truckers to ensure a realistic presentation of the job.
  1. 18 Wheels of Steel: American Long Haul

    • A truck simulation game for personal computers, this title puts players in charge of their own trucking business. Players can make money and transport cargo across 48 states. Trucks must carry a variety of types of items, from livestock to mobile homes. Fuel, maintenance and other factors must also be considered during the game.

    Destination

    • A title aiming to recreate a typical day in the life of a long haul trucker, "Destination" plays out over a highway-themed game board. Up to six players compete to make it to their destination first, but they must beware of various distractions, such as detours and hazardous weather. Players begin with a set amount of money, but resources are soon drained by the expenses of life on the road. Participants are eliminated if they run out of cash.

    My Truckin Luck

    • Designed by real-life trucker Randy Cox, this board game takes players to a host of places from Washington state. Players must keep an eye on trucking resources, such as the amount of gas in the tank, to make it to their destination. Other realistic situations include encounters at weigh stations and vehicle inspection points.

    Big Mutha Truckers

    • This PlayStation 2 video game combines realistic trucking simulation with a more light-hearted adventure. Players take on the role of a truck driver who stands to inherit a business if she can make it across a selection of cities and rake in as much cash as possible. The gameplay involves making deliveries and scouting out what merchandise sells best in each place by chatting to locals.

    10-4 Mr. Truck Driver

    • This board game takes place across a large scale map of the United States. Each player attempts to be the first to own five different trucks and earn a set amount of cash by transporting goods across various states.

    18-Wheeler: American Pro Trucker

    • Available across multiple platforms including Nintendo GameCube, this video game is based on an arcade title and has players racing to deliver cargo between various American cities. On each level, a player earns points by keeping his cargo intact and beating a rival across the finish line. Tornados and other surprises add unpredictable fun to the races.
