Card/Dice Games
Players rely on benders' signature combat moves for agility and strength battles in Upper Deck Entertainment's "Avatar: The Last Airbender Trading Card Game: Master of Elements Starter Sets." The card game includes slide-open "Chamber Cards" that let players reveal hidden moves. Players try to collect the most cards in Hasbro's "Yahtzee Jr.: Avatar: The Last Airbender," recommended for ages 5 and up. Dice contain "Avatar" characters, and players roll up to three times during their turns. Combinations that players roll determine the number of cards they take from the draw pile. Once the draw pile depletes, players count their cards; the player with the most cards wins.
NickToons Online Games
Nickelodeon's Nicktoons site hosts a number of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" games. After Prince Zuko and his minions set the town on fire, Aang and Katara try to put out all the flames in "Ashes in the Air." To put out fires, players blow flames toward Katara, puddles or barrels of water. Aang, Katara and Toph work together to escape a Fire Nation ship in "Elemental Escape." Players switch between characters and press the spacebar to activate benders' special moves. Aang tries to master all four elements and fulfill his destiny as the new Avatar in "Master of the Elements." Players collect ancient manuscripts to advance through the four nations and learn new moves.
Party "Training" Games
Kids channel their inner bender in "Avatar"-themed birthday-party training games. Airbending training may include kids blowing up balloons as fast as possible. To gain Earthbending experience, kids move rocks from one end of the play area to the opposite side in a relay race. As part of Firebending training, kids race through an obstacle course as an imaginary fire blazes (and where the obstacles may themselves be painted to that end). After the obstacle course, adults supervise kids as they make s'mores and sit around a campfire to roast them. Waterbending training may include water-balloon tossing, with kids trying not to break balloons as they toss them back and forth. Another water challenge involves kids using only a straw to transfer water from one large cup to another.
