Challenging Games for Girls

When organizing a social event or birthday party for a group of girls, create some challenging games for the girls to play. From relay races to makeover games, all you need are a few supplies and some creativity to get started. Encourage the girls to try their best by awarding prizes to the winners of each game.
  1. Relay Races

    • Create a dare relay race by writing several dares on small slips of paper and putting them inside inflated balloons. Some dare examples include standing on your head for 15 seconds, sing a verse to your favorite song and hop on one leg while clucking like a chicken. Mark a starting line and run-to line 15 feet apart. Place all the balloons at the run-to line. Divide the girls into two teams and have them line up at the starting line. Each player from each team must race to the run-to line, pop a balloon and do the dare. Then she must run back to tag the next player in line who has to do the same thing. The first team to complete the race wins the game. For an easy relay race, do not include the dares. Just have the teams run and pop a balloon. The team that finishes first wins the game.

    Bead Jewelry Challenge

    • Place several beads, elastic string, jewelry clasps and small glitter pens on a table. Have all the girls sit around the table and begin making their own jewelry. Tell the girls to make necklaces. Set a timer and give the girls 20 minutes to make a necklace. Award prizes for the most creative, best and most unique necklaces. For other jewelry challenges, have the girls make bracelets and anklets.

    Girl Hunt Games

    • Hide several items all over the play area, such as a tube of red stick, bottle of pink nail polish, purple hair bow, gold hoop earrings and a bobby pin. Divide the girls into two teams and give each team a list of 20 of the hidden items. When you say "Go," the teams must start hunting for the items on their list. The first team to find 15 of the 20 items wins the game. For a variation, give each girl a plastic bag and have her hunt for the items individually. The girl who finds the most items wins the game.

    Makeover Games

    • Try hair and makeup makeover contests for the girls. Have each girl select a partner. Give the girls hairbrushes, spray hair color, neon extensions, ponytails, bobby pins and hairbrushes. The girls have 20 minutes to give each other a hair makeover. After 20 minutes, the same partners must give each other a makeover using a variety of makeup. Award prizes for the funniest, silliest, scariest, best and most creative makeovers.
