Category 1: Person, Place or Animal
The person, place or animal category lists exactly what a player must draw. In many ways, this is like a hint for teams to stay on track when they are guessing what their partner is drawing. Racing themed Pictionary ideas for the person sub-category could be the names of NASCAR drivers or drivers of other racing sports, such as motocross or drag racing. For the places sub-category, the cities or famous race tracks will work. For the animals sub-category, use animals commonly found on a race track, such as birds.
Category 2: Action
The action category revolves around a word or group of words involving an action. The action category tends to have words that are slightly more difficult to draw or guess. An example of action words or phrases for players to draw for a racing theme would include driving, changing a tire or wrecking a car. For more ideas for actions, make a list of actions that pertain to the drivers, pit crews and fans in the stands.
Category 3: Object
Objects can encompass just about anything you may see. For a racing Pictionary theme, develop several sub-categories for an extra hint. Sub-categories for objects could include objects found in a racing garage, with the pit crew, on the track or in the car. You could also list other miscellaneous objects to draw, such as car parts, tools and foods eaten at a race track.
Category 4: Challenge
This category is optional. If you are playing with younger or less experienced players, this is a category you can choose not to use. Words used in a challenge category are a word or a phrase that is extremely difficult to draw. An example for a racing themed Pictionary game would be to list things only an extreme racing fan would know about. Another option is listing items or objects that would be more difficult to draw, such as certain car parts.
