Christian Themed Games for Women

Games provide an easy and enjoyable way to break the ice at meetings and events. They allow the attendees to get to know new people and make deeper connections with those they already know. Christian themed games offer a targeted game focus for women's and men's ministry groups, church gatherings and other events where Christians gather.
  1. Favorite Female Bible Character

    • Give each woman a list of famous female Bible characters such as Mary Magdalene, Bathsheba, Eve and Ruth. Each woman chooses a specific character as her favorite. She gives three facts about her character and the rest of the group must decide which character is her favorite. The first person to guess correctly either does her character next or chooses which woman in the group is next. Participants may choose the same character, but should provide different clues about the character. This may make the game more challenging for those who take their turns later in the game.

    Spiritual Gifts Hunt

    • Provide each participant with a spiritual gifts test and allow about 20 minutes for each person to complete the test and score it. Have the women circulate with other participants until they find participants who score highly in each of the 28 spiritual gifts. If the group is small enough, one person may fill multiple categories. The winner is the one with the most spiritual gift categories filled. The organizers may use the game to organize teams for other event activities or may use the test to discover qualified people to help lead the group.

    Name That Hymn

    • Play snippets of various well-known hymns and praise choruses and allow participants to guess the names of the pieces. You can further limit the options by choosing only hymns or choruses written by women, such as "Just As I Am" by Charlotte Elliott, Fanny Crosby's "Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross" and "Blessed Assurance" or "Nearer, My God, To Thee" by Sarah Flower Adams. Participants earn extra points if they can name the author or composer of the hymn or the Scripture reference for a praise hymn. This game works well if women organize themselves into teams or if each woman competes it individually. The team or individual with the most correct answers wins the game.

    Match Bible Pairs

    • Pass out slips of paper that list halves of famous Bible pairs. In a small group, the pairs may include only females such as Ruth and Naomi, Jael and Sisera, Mary and Martha or Rachel and Leah. Another option includes women and the reasons they are famous, such as that Mary Magdalene and seven demons were cast out or that Mary was mother to Jesus. Participants must find their biblical matches. The couple that gets together the fastest win. Pairs may work together in other game activities or as study buddies for a women's Bible study.
