Homemade Games for Adults

Games can keep a group of adults entertained for hours at a time. When planning a social gathering or party for adults, you can create a few homemade games for the adults to play. Awarding small prizes -- such as books, home decor items and gift cards -- to the game winners will keep the adults ready for the next game. All you need to prepare homemade adult games is some creativity and a few inexpensive supplies that you probably already have at home.
  1. Celebrity Games

    • Write the names of celebrities, such as Michael Jackson, Paris Hilton, Madonna and Samuel Jackson, on small slips of paper. Place the names in a bowl. Divide the adults into two teams. One player at a time must draw a name and act out the celebrity to his team. His team has one minute to guess the celebrity. They earn a point if they guess correctly. The first team to five points wins the game. For another celebrity game, write the celebrity names on index cards and tape one to each player's back. The players must walk around the room asking yes or no questions trying to figure out what celebrity he is. The first player to guess his celebrity name wins the game.

    Bandanna Hunt

    • Divide the adults into two teams and give each team a bandanna. Send each team into a different room and have them hide the bandanna. After each team hides the bandanna, have the teams switch rooms. The first team to find the hidden bandanna wins the game. Split the adults into four or five teams to play this game when playing with a large group.

    Music Games

    • Record several songs on a CD or MP3 player before the gathering. For example, include some well known songs like "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge and "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leppard. Give each adult a sheet of paper and a pen. Play five to ten seconds of each song. Have the adults write down the name of the song and who sings it. Award a point for each correct song title and artist name. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins. For a variation, divide the adults into teams to play the game.

    Balloon Games

    • Toss several uninflated balloons on the floor. Tell players that the first one to grab a balloon, blow it up and pop it wins a prize. For another balloon game, divide the adults into two teams. Blow up 30 balloons for each team. When you say, "Go," the adults have to pop their team's balloons. The first team to pop all their balloons wins the game.
