Shaving Games for Girls

When girls begin to feel uncomfortable about body hair or when their friends begin shaving their legs and underarms, they may express an interest in or have questions about the process. Shaving games played at sleepovers and as video games can act as a catalyst for introducing the sensitive subject of shaving to tweens and teens.

Edible Shave
- You can try this outdoor shaving game using items found in your refrigerator. Substitute shaving cream with whipped cream and construct a faux razor from two carrot sticks. Slide a toothpick vertically through the top of one carrot, leaving visible a portion of the toothpick approximately half the width of the second carrot so that the the toothpick can be used to join the carrots in a "T" shape similar to a razor. During the game, girls race to be the first to lather their legs and shave away the whipped cream using the carrot razor. Give players a tub of water to rinse their razors during play.
Don't Pop the Balloon
- Girls can learn about the delicate process of shaving with a messy team game that is best played outdoors. While one girl sits with a water balloon on top of her head, her teammate lathers the balloon with shaving cream and then shaves the balloon with a safety razor. If the shaving teammate is careful, then she and her partner will stay dry, but if she nicks the balloon the team will be showered with water and shaving cream. If played indoors, the Youth Worker website suggests playing this game on a large tarp.
Hairy Legs App
- For girls on the go who still want to practice shaving their legs, iTunes offers a "Hairy Legs" app from seller Gary Gindlesperger. This shaving game allows players to use their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to shave an endless pair of frightfully hairy legs using a touch controlled razor. Skilled players who shave the legs without nicking any blemishes or pimples can receive boosts in power or earn the ultimate shaving device: the Golden Razor.
Shave a Star
- When girls become tired of shaving their own legs, they can shave a celebrity's legs. "Shave a Star," from the Spoof Games website, is a flash game that allows players to shave Bigfoot caliber full body hair from a mysterious celebrity figure using a randomly selected shaving device, such as electric shears, scissors or a weed eater. Prior to shaving, game host Snooki instructs players to guess which celebrity is underneath the hair. Once the shave is complete, an animated Kim Kardashian, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jennifer Connelly or Demi Moore is revealed.
