Spiritual Games for Kids

Spiritual games for kids help make learning about God and the Bible fun. Children learn about biblical values and principles and can memorize verses while playing games with other children, their family or in their Sunday School class. Games can be played online, as a group activity or as a board/card game.
  1. Truth Seeker: Battle Against the Lies

    • Truth Seeker: Battle Against The Lies is part of The Axys Adventures which are a combination of mysteries and puzzles. The player becomes Axys, a young truth seeker and the primary character in the story. This video game teaches spiritual lessons about adhering to the truth and overcoming lies. There are 80 exploration scenarios with dramatic graphics. Players ages seven and up will enjoy over 20 hours of game play while learning biblical principles and values. You can download a demo online or buy the full version for $24 at YoungForestGames.com.

    Outburst: Bible Edition Game

    • The entire family and children ages eight and up will enjoy this version of the popular game Outburst based on the Bible. One player draws a card with a certain topic and everyone has one minute to give as many answers as possible. You might be asked to name 10 books from the Old Testament. This is a great activity for family game night.

    Knock Knock

    • In this spiritual game for children ages six through 12, children take turns as the Queen or King. Other children come before the King or Queen and are asked by the royal figure for their word. Create a series of index cards with good character traits, such as patient, friendly, kind, compassionate and gentle. The child is given one of these cards and must give an example of how she demonstrated that attribute, for example, helping a sibling or a child at school. This game teaches Christian characteristics, biblical values and pleasing God. If the child has given an appropriate example, she is allowed to enter the kingdom.

    Memory Verse Basketball

    • This game for children ages six through 12 is a fun way to help youngsters memorize Bible verses. An adult reads a verse from the Bible to begin the game. The children recite the verse out loud at least a few times. Divide the children into two teams and have them form two team lines. Hand a child a Nerf basketball and ask them to recite the verse out loud. If he repeats it correctly, he gets to shoot the basketball into a hoop. If the player cannot recite the verse correctly, he must go to the end of the line. Alternate turns for the teams to say the verse and shoot. The team that has the most players who recite the verse correctly wins; however, you can also determine the winner by the number of baskets scored.
