Bake-Off Games

Baking games give players the opportunity to follow recipe directions and whip up desserts, whether in a real-life or virtual setting. To experience more of a competitive baking experience, players can participate in bake-off games. Bake-off games challenge players in areas such as following dessert instructions and models, serving the most items and making the best desserts.
  1. Bake Off Card Games

    • Players battle a computer opponent and try to score 700 points per round in "Bake Off," accessible at FlashRolls. In this American version of the French card game "Mille Bournes," competitors play food cards upon putting down a "Bake" card. Muffins carry the lowest points value (25), while cakes carry the highest (200). "Attack" cards such as "Broken Oven" and "Sour Milk" stop players from baking and serving; remedy cards such as "Bake" and "Fresh Milk" let players resume baking and serving. Safety cards protect players against hazards; for instance, "Flour Mill" prevents players from attacking their opponent with "Out of Flour" cards for the remainder of a round. Throughout the game, players score bonus points for various achievements. The first player to score 5,000 points wins.

    Bake-Off Competitions

    • Kids put their baking skills to the test against competitors in an adult-supervised bake-off. Using an item such as Hasbro's Easy-Bake Oven &Snack Center, kids bake an assortment of snacks in a light-bulb oven. Using two Easy-Bake ovens, kids compete in one-on-one rounds or in teams. While Easy-Bake comes with baking tools and cake/cookie mixes, kids also will need flour, a 100-watt incandescent light bulb, measuring spoon, mixing bowl, nonstick cooking spray and screwdriver. Following the instructions, kids prepare brownies, cake or cookies and bake them inside the oven. Upon finishing, kids present their item to the adult supervisor, who scores competitors on both speed and quality of product.

    Pudsey's Bake-Off Games

    • Pudsey Bear, the mascot for the BBC's annual Children in Need fundraising marathon, seeks bake-off help at the BBC site. Players try to make the exact cakes that Pudsey wants in "Pudsey's Kitchen." Using the mouse to drag cake parts into place and make cakes, players deliver as many cakes to Pudsey as possible before time runs out. In "Pudsey's Cake Lab," Pudsey walks players through the cake-making process, with players scoring points after completing each stage. Players move a whole cake, slice by slice, from left to right in "Pudsey's Tower of Cake." In this game, players put smaller slices on top of larger ones and try not to exceed the target number of moves.

    Strawberry Shortcake Games

    • Players try to impress Strawberry Shortcake and two of her judge friends in "Berrylicious Bake-Off," found at GirlsGoGames. After choosing a bundt cake, round cake or cupcakes, players follow the recipe and mix ingredients, bake and decorate their dessert. Upon finishing the dessert, players see the judges' scores and their placement in the contest. Players help Strawberry and her friends bake the best cake for the Strawberryland baking contest in The American Game Factory's "Strawberry Shortcake: The Four Seasons Cake," available for the Nintendo DS platform. To make a four-seasons cake, players travel through the four seasons and face challenges as they collect ingredients and strawberries to help them win the contest.
