Chicago Trivia Games

Chicagoans are competitive. From which baseball team they root for -- Cubs or White Sox -- to which side of the city they come from, Chicagoans are not afraid to wear their pride on their sleeves. And the competition continues at weekly pub trivia nights, where people can show off their smarts while spending time with friends.
  1. Mondays

    • Any night can be the right night to grab a drink with friends, and adding some trivia game playing can make the evening profitable as well. Most games on Mondays start between 7 and 9 p.m., played at bars and pubs from as far north as Andersonville to as far south as UIC. Consider stopping by Crew in Uptown or Lottie's in Bucktown to show off what you learned in school.

    Tuesdays

    • Tuesday nights throughout Chicago are nights when many locals hit up the bar or pub for either karaoke or trivia. Whether you plan to hang out on the near South Side in Pilsen at Simones or in Lincoln Park at Schoolyard Tavern, you'll find a place to display your knowledge of things like "Who gave the U.S. the Statue of Liberty?"

    Wednesdays

    • On Wednesdays, Chicagoans just want to go out, take a break from their daily lives, and get rejuvenated to finish off their workweek. Wherever you live in the city, you'll find a bar with trivia on Wednesday nights. Wicker Park bar 6 Corners begins its game at 8 p.m., but if you live closer to Lake Michigan and prefer more of a college-age crowd, John Barleycorn's game starts at the same time.

    Thursday

    • Trivia games on Thursday nights in the Windy City are less plentiful, possibly because bars aren't looking for as many ways to lure patrons in: Thursday is, after all, the new Friday. Bucktown Pub in the heart of Bucktown starts its game at 8 p.m., while at the same time, the game at Casey Moran's starts across town in Wrigleyville.

    Friday through Sunday

    • You can find a handful of Chicago bars offering trivia games on Friday nights, with the two most prominently advertised being on the North Side near Wrigley Field. No bars across the city offer Saturday-night games, as the bars are packed enough without offering a special deal for the night. Trivia games begin to pick up again Sunday nights, with a smattering of bars from the South Side, such as Groucho's, to the near West Side with Logan Bar &Grill, to Boystown with Spin Nightclub.
