Games For Gifting Money

Everyone loves money as a gift because then they have the money to buy what they really need or want most. There are many creative ways to give money as a gift. Rather than placing folded bills inside a card, make your gift recipient feel how loved they are by putting a little more thought into the way you give them their cash this year.
  1. Scavenger Hunt

    • This game can be used for a number of different events, such as weddings and bridal showers, birthdays, Christmas and baby showers. Begin by telling the recipient that there is a big gift waiting if she can follow the clues to find the gift. The first clue will lead her to an area where another clue is, until she reaches the gift itself. For older recipients, make each clue progressively harder, so they really have to work to get their money. For even more fun, place the money in a treasure chest, piggy bank, pinata or money tree.

    A Hunt For Money

    • This game works best for larger groups, but will work for an individual or couple as well. This is just like Easter egg hunting, but you can use other items, such as ornaments at Christmas, candy wrappers for Halloween and chocolate boxes on Valentine's Day. Place an equal amount of money in each item and tell the recipients to search for the items. The person who finds the most items will have the most money, but everyone will get something for their efforts.

    Guess How Much

    • This game for larger groups can be used as a fun fund raising technique. Fill a clear glass jar or bottle with money, such as dollar bills, quarters or a mixture of change and paper money. Every person submits a sheet of paper with their estimate and name on it. For fund raising, sell tickets to others for 25 cents to one dollar, depending on the prize money awarded. Whomever guesses the exact amount or comes the closest wins the money in the jar.

    Money Puzzle

    • If planning a game isn't your style or you aren't able to make it to an event, you can still give money to the recipient in a fun game-like way. Buy money puzzles through vendors online and offline. These puzzles are similar to cards, but instead of opening the card to find money, the money is placed inside the center of a plastic mini-puzzle and the recipient must complete the puzzle before the money is released. Money puzzles include mazes, pin ball and other mind bending games.
