Karaoke
Make a list of the most popular music for the holiday. Have each guest draw a number from a hat corresponding to the song they will sing---have the songs already numbered---but don't tell them what they're singing until it's their turn to sing. Play the music and have the person sing for a minute with the music playing and words on the screen. After a minute, turn the music and words off to see if they really know the song by making them sing a few lines once the music stops.
Musical Chairs
Many believe this to be a child's game, but nothing is more fun than watching a bunch of children and adults fighting over the last chair. Count the number of people that will be playing the game and place chairs in a circle that total one less than the number of people playing. Play music as people walk in a circle, turn the music down or off and everyone has to find a seat. The person left standing is kicked out of the game and another chair is removed. Keep repeating until only one person and one chair is left.
Holiday Music Quiz
Create your own holiday quizzes that involve music. One way is to create a quiz that ask questions pertaining to holiday songs. For example, if you're having a Christmas party, you can make questions pertaining to several different Christmas songs such as "How many rings are there in the 12 Days of Christmas?" Another quiz-like game involves humming holiday songs. Find a list of the most popular songs for that holiday and tell players to number their paper for the amount of songs you will hum. Hum each song twice and tell them to write their answers next to each number. The person with the most songs correctly answered wins.
Holiday Music Guessing Game
This is another song that can be played with or without music, but still involves music. One way to play this game is only play the first three or four seconds of a song and have guests guess the song title. Another way to play is to create pictures that pertain to the title of a song and have players guess what the title to the song is based on the picture. For example, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer would be drawn as a reindeer with a shining red nose. Make some pictures easier than others. The player with the most correct answers wins.
