Games for Money Problems

The Old National Bank is sponsoring a new form of online financial training dubbed "Financial Training." These online financial learning games provide information on a variety of financial topics, ranging from budgeting and debt to savings and retirement goals. Try the games and maybe learn a thing or two about money at Financialentertainment.org.
  1. Celebrity Calamity

    • You manage money on behalf of a youthful celebrity in this online game. Choose jobs, run around chasing money and use your debit card and credit card to make purchases, all the while trying to balance the happiness of your celebrity. Pay monthly bills and fees, and see any interest that your debts have incurred. This game explains things such as new balances, previous balances and dreaded finance charges. Celebrity Calamity offers an interesting approach to financial literacy.

    Farm Blitz

    • The premise behind Farm Blitz is that you inherit a farm from an uncle. Instead of ditching the farm, you decide to become a farmer, incurring some debt in the process. Purchase seeds every planting season on credit, and then pay them off at the end of the growing season. Your debt is represented by rabbits. If you fail to pay off your rabbit debts, they multiply like, well, rabbits. Balance your income, debt and savings, all while listening to some killer banjo music.

    Groove Nation

    • The idea behind Groove Nation is that you are leading a dance troupe toward a large contest in Los Angeles. You don't only manage their moves, you manage their whole budget. Monitor savings, spending, income and expenses in this financial literacy dance fest.

    Refund Rush

    • You dole out financial advice to individuals receiving tax refunds in this game. A description of the person's age, her family situation, her debt and her goals are listed on the screen, along with her refund amount. Your goal is to select tiles containing the right financial advice for that person. You are scored on your advice at the end of the round, and the game offers pointers on how to score more points by revealing the best advice for each situation.
