Decalogue Board Game
Decalogue is a board game that can be played by adults and families and is available online. The game is based on events that take place in Numbers, Deuteronomy, Leviticus and Exodus and the objective is for players to win and retain the Ten Commandments Tablets and then cross the square symbolizing the River Jordan that leads into the Square representing the Land of Canaan. The makers of the game state that just as it's a challenge to keep the Ten Commandments in real life, it is also challenging and fun to keep them while playing the game. It allows players a way to discuss faith and morality.
Online Quiz
There are numerous games and Bible-themed quizzes available online. Adults can test their knowledge of the Ten Commandments in many ways. One such quiz tests your knowledge of the order in which the commandments are listed. This is a fun way to learn the order and commit it to memory. Questions are in the form of a multiple choice quiz and provide six possible answers. You select your answer and move on to the next question. The choices are remarkably similar and carefully worded so it is quite a challenge and you really have to know your Ten Commandments well in order to get the answers right.
Bingo
Set up an evening of bingo that has the Ten Commandments as its theme. The words that you can use on the bingo cards that you print up can include: kill, steal, lie, one God, obey, Sabbath, stone tablets, Red Sea, adultery, honor, kill, idols and any other words that are directly or indirectly related to the story of the Ten Commandments. The ordinary rules of bingo apply and the winner of each game is the person who covers the designated pattern on their card. Instead of calling out "bingo," the winner must call out an agreed upon word that relates to the Ten Commandment theme, such as 'Bible" or "Sinai." You can arrange for a series of biblical-themed prizes or simply have a grand prize that is a sum of money.
Crossword Puzzle
Devise a crossword puzzle that has the Ten Commandments as its theme. The clues can be arranged so that they're as challenging as the New York Times crossword puzzle, or you can create one that is a little easier. There are examples of religious-themed crossword puzzles available online and you can use an existing template to create yours. Provide each person in the group with his own puzzle, or split up into two teams and have a race to see who can get there first. If you want to make it even more interactive, give each team their own Bible that they can consult for answers to the more obscure clues.
