Design Tweety
Give the children yellow playdough or yellow clay and have them sit around a table. Place a couple of pictures of Tweety Bird on the table for them to look at and compare. Put googly eyes, pipe cleaners, pompoms, rhinestones and markers on the table for the children to use to design their own Tweety Birds. If you want to award prizes for this activity, award prizes for the best, most creative and funniest Tweety Birds.
Tweety Birdseed Toss
Draw a large picture of Tweety Bird on a poster board and tape it to the bottom of a cardboard box. Cut Tweety's mouth out of the box and lean the box on a wall. Mark a standing line 6 feet from the box. Have children line up at the standing line. Give each child five beanbags to try to toss into Tweety's mouth. For added decoration, write "birdseed" on all the beanbags. Beanbags are available at most craft stores and online. Award a prize to each player who gets a beanbag into Tweety's mouth.
Tweety Piñata
Fill a Tweety Bird piñata with candy and Tweety-themed prizes. Hang the piñata outside and let children use a broomstick (without the broom head) to try to break open the piñata. For safety reasons, be sure all children stand back when others are swinging the broomstick.
Sylvester, Sylvester, Tweety
Instead of the original "Duck, Duck, Goose," play a game of "Sylvester, Sylvester, Tweety." Have the players sit in a circle and have one player walk around the outside of the circle saying, "Sylvester, Sylvester," as she taps players lightly on the head. When she says, "Tweety," the player she taps must get up and chase her around the circle. If the player catches her, she is "it" again. If the "it" player makes it back to the seat without being caught, the other player is the new "it."
Tweety Bird Scavenger Hunt
Print several colored pictures of Tweety and hide them around the play area. You can also use small plastic toy Tweety Birds, which are available online and at most toy stores. Give each player a small plastic Tweety bag. When you say, "Find those Tweety Birds," the players must find as many Tweety Birds as they can and place them in their bags. The player who finds the most wins the game and a large plush Tweety Bird. For more prizes, mark a star on two or three of the Tweety Birds. Players who find these also win a prize. All players can keep their Tweety Birds to take home.
