Basketball Games
Place a basketball net in a booth and mark a standing line 15 feet from the goal -- this is the distance of a free-throw line. Teens must make one of three shots to earn a small prize, two of three shots to earn a medium prize and all three shots to earn a large prize. For another basketball game, place a laundry basket on the ground and mark a line 6 feet away. The teens must bounce a basketball off the ground and into the laundry basket. The players have three chances to land the ball in the basket.
Balloon Games
Place several balloons on a cork board and have teens throw darts at the balloons to pop them. Teens must pop three balloons out of 10 for a small prize, five balloons out of 10 for a medium prize and all 10 balloons for a large prize. For another variation, place small slips of paper in the balloons. On some slips, write, "Sorry, not a winner." On other slips write types of prizes, such as a medium plush animal, candy, a small plush animal or a MP3 player. Players win the corresponding prize on the slip of paper in the balloon they pop.
Ring Games
Scatter several small, medium and large prizes on a large tarp on the ground. Mark a line 15 feet from the tarp. Give each teen a small, medium and large hoop. You can use embroidery hoops from your craft store or make your own hoops using duct tape and rope. The hoop must go all the way around a prize and be lying on the ground in order for the teen to win it. For another ring game, place several empty 16-oz. soda bottles on a table. Give the teens 10 small plastic rings to try to toss on the bottles. Any teen who rings a bottle wins a prize.
Quarter Games
Fill an aquarium with water and place a treasure chest in the bottom of the aquarium with the lid open. Players must drop a quarter into the aquarium and try to land it in the treasure chest to earn a prize. The player's hand cannot touch the water when he releases the quarters. Another quarter game is the quarter prize toss. Paint circles, starting with the smallest at 2-1/2 inches in diameter, on a white sheet or tarp and lay it on the ground. Write small, medium or large in each circle, where the large prize is in the smallest circle. Players must stand at a line 10 feet from the sheet and try to toss the quarters on the circle. The quarter must be completely on the inside of the circle to win the corresponding prize.
