Bee Toss
Paint several cotton balls with yellow paint and allow them time to dry. Take a black marker to draw black stripes in the cotton balls to resemble bees. Glue a pair of googly eyes to each bee. Place four flowerpots on the ground and mark a line 6 feet from the pots. Put a couple of toys and candy in each flowerpot. Have the children try to toss the bees from the line into the flowerpots. If a child gets a bee into a flowerpot, she can select a prize from that flowerpot to take home. If you do not have cotton balls, you can use ping pong balls.
Garden Scavenger Hunt
Make scavenger lists with items children can find outdoors around a garden. Some example items include a yellow flower, a green leaf, a brown rock, a ladybug, a pine needle and a twig. Write down 25 items on each list and divide the players into teams. Give each team a scavenger list. Tell the teams that they must race around and collect 20 out of the 25 items on their list. The first team back with 20 of the 25 items in a plastic bag wins the game.
Drop the Seed
Clean out a gallon plastic milk jug and set it on the ground. Have the players line up in front of the milk jug and give each player 10 large sunflower seeds. Each player must stand over the milk jug and try to drop each one of his seeds into the jug. The players must stand with their arms straight out over the jug when dropping the seeds. The player who lands the most seeds in the milk jug wins the game and a prize.
Ladybug Volleyball
Inflate several red water balloons and draw black dots on them to resemble ladybugs. Divide the players into two teams and give each team a sheet. Players must use the sheet to toss the water balloon back and forth over a volleyball or badminton net. A team earns a point when the other team does not catch the ladybug water balloon and it splatters on the ground. The first team to score 10 points wins the game.
