Shrieks in the Dark
Turn off all of the lights in the house. Pick one player to count to 100 while the other players head away from her to find a hiding spot. Once she gets to 100, the player begins her search for those hiding. The job of the hider is to scare the seeker enough to make her shriek. Once the seeker has found all of the players, the hider who made the seeker shriek the most wins the game and becomes the next seeker.
Follow the String
Start the game inside the house with all lights turned off. Hand one player the end of a string connected to a ball of yarn and another girl the actual ball of yarn. The girl with the end of the string heads away from the player holding the ball, going anywhere she likes, even outside. Once all of the string on the ball of yarn has been used, the girl has to find her partner in the dark. Time each twosome to see who does this the fastest.
Bloody Mary Challenge
The legend goes that Bloody Mary appears in the mirror of a dark room when you call her name five times. After you have adequately spooked your female peers with this story, have them all head into the bathroom and call out Bloody Mary's name. Whoever can stay in the bathroom the longest after they have called out her name five times wins the game.
Dicey Scavenger Hunt
Before you start the game, hide several objects, such as a particular book or a specific colored-candle, in a dark room or outside at night. Write down all of these items on a list. Gather all of your friends in a circle. Pick one girl to roll two dice. The number on one die indicates how many players get to go with her; the other number determines how many minutes she has to find all of the items. If she fails the challenge, she has to perform the search again -- but this time alone and in only five minutes. Otherwise, another girl goes. Hide the objects after every turn. Keep playing until everyone has gone on the hunt.
