Fun Charitable Games

Rather than set up a collection box for donations to a charity, organize games for people to take part in. Charitable games enable people to have fun partaking in friendly competition and raising money for a cause. This can be an inducement for people to participate every year.
  1. Baby Photo Album

    • People will pay for a chance to match their co-workers to their baby photos. Display the photos on a board. Number each photo clearly for everyone to see. Type out a list with the numbers and a space for people to write next to each number the name of the co-worker they think the photo shows as a baby. The person with the most correct answers wins. The prize can be a gift certificate to a restaurant or movie theater. If possible, have the prizes donated.

    Guess How Many

    • Fill a container with marbles, pennies or jelly beans. People can guess how many items are in the container for a chance to win them. For their guess to be considered, they must purchase a fund-raising ticket. Have them write their name and answer on a piece of paper. The person with the closest number without going over wins. If you have a tie, split the prize among the winners.

    Jackpot

    • Get people excited about a raffle by making the prize a portion of the ticket sales. The more tickets sold, the more money people can win. Place the container in a prominent location along with a daily update of how much money has been collected. Let everyone know the time and place of the raffle. If you prefer having all of the money go to charity, then you can let the winner select a charity to give the money to.

    Sports Tournament

    • Get out of the office and onto the playing field while raising money for a good cause. Have different departments sign up as teams, but include an entry fee. The entry fee will go toward a charity of the winning team's choice. Make a competition bracket to display in the office. Have the games one night a week, or multiple nights a week if you have enough teams. You can also make a trophy for the winning department to display.
