Fun Family Games That Have No Pieces

Missing pieces to your favorite family games can get infuriating. They are not easily replaceable and often render the game useless. Fortunately there are other family games that are just as engaging and don't require any pieces, so you'll never have to look under the sofa again.

Twister
- See who the most flexible member of the family is by contorting your body to win. Keeping your balance is the key in this fun physical game. A large plastic sheet is covered with 24 different colored spots. A player spins the wheel, which determines whether your right or left hand or foot has to be placed on which colored spot. You're bound to get tangled and fall over. The winner is the last person standing.
Taboo
- Your vocabulary will be stretched as you try to explain a word to your teammates without saying the actual word. Each team has one minute to try and help their team guess as many taboo words as possible. You're not allowed to act or spell out the word. You can even make your own version by writing down four words per person and mixing them in a bowl.
Pictionary
- They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Put that to the test and use your drawing skills to win in Pictionary. Similar to Taboo, the aim of the game is reach the end of the board by having teammates guess the word or concept you are drawing before time runs out. You're not allowed to speak or act and can't write any letters. Trying to convey a word in pictures isn't as easy as it seems.
Charades
- Watching your sister impersonate a monkey climbing a tree is what charades is all about. Split into two or more teams and write down two to four words each onto a separate pieces of paper. You have one minute to guess as many words as you can that your teammate is silently acting out. The team that has correctly guessed the most wins.
