The Desert Fox
This board game takes the form of a military campaign simulation based on the events of the North African front during World War Two. Participants each control regiments represented by colored tiles. Players move their troops around a map-like board, with each hexagon on the map symbolizing a certain amount of distance. The player's aim is to try to defeat her opponent, with one participant taking command of the Allies while the other plays as Rommel's forces.
Triumph and Fall of the Desert Fox
This board game also focuses on the North African theater during the events of World War II, dealing with the conflict between 1940 and 1943 and involving the armies of the British, the Italians and the Germans. Players control forces represented by colored card counters and use map-sheets, divided into hexes, to monitor the action. The game itself is divided into chronological scenarios, each representing a different period of the action, such as the battle of El Alamein, or can be played in full as one campaign, which takes up to seven hours to play through.
Desert Fox
"Desert Fox" is a video game released on the Commodore 64 gaming system. A strategy simulation, "Desert Fox" places players in the role of a British tank commander during the World War II North Africa campaign. Players travel to various locations in North Africa and must defend a series of important objectives against attack by Axis forces. Players secure objectives by moving their tanks into them, as well as by winning against the enemy during the action scenes which crop up during each mission. A looming threat is also posed by Rommel's tank troops, who are better fighters than the game's other enemies. Players should try to avoid encountering these troops on the map screen.
Combat Arms: Desert Fox
A game bearing a "Desert Fox" title which isn't actually about the North Africa campaign in World War Two, "Combat Arms: Desert Fox" is an expansion for the PC first-person shooter title, "Combat Arms." The designers behind the free game "Combat Arms," which is set in the 21st-century era and concentrates on multiplayer matches, regularly release new maps and missions for the game, of which "Desert Fox" is one. The expansion's plot revolves around a terrorist cell lurking in the desert. Players team with a friend in the mission's co-op mode and take on the desert terrorists with a range of equipment and weapons.
