Dead Dave
Before you begin the game, gather a peeled tomato, some spaghetti noodles and some peeled grapes. These serve as a heart, a brain and eyeballs, respectively. Place these in separate bowls. Gather all the players in a sitting circle and blindfold them. Make up a scary story about a dead guy named Dave, using the body parts for inspiration. Pass the bowls around for everyone to feel. After the story, ask everyone which food was used for each body part. The person with the most correct guesses wins.
Graveyard Scavenger Hunt
Set up a graveyard setting in your back yard by crafting some tombstones out of polystyrene foam. Hide several creepy objects, such as fake hands and skeleton body parts, around the graveyard. Write all of these objects on a list. Send the players out all at once to find the hidden objects. As they look, have volunteers jump up behind the tombstones and frighten them. Once 10 minutes pass, the person with the most items found wins.
Pick a Card
Write down typical scary story phrases onto separate index cards. Use phrases such as "The wind howled over the moors" or "The moon rose over the isolated hilltop." Put all the cards together in a pile and have everyone sit in a circle. Hand the pile to a random player. He picks a card and has to build off the phrase to start the scary story. After two minutes, he passes the deck of cards to the next person, who draws another card and uses that new phrase to continue the same story. This pattern of two-minute storytelling continues until the cards are gone.
Place Them at the Tomb
Create a simple map of your back yard and mark five spots on the map where you can place fake tombstones. Give each tombstone area a name such as "Lady George's Resting Place" or "Zombie Mecca." Select one player to play the Ghoul. Divide the rest of the group into teams of three and hand each team a different colored set of five fake flowers. Tell them they have to quickly place each flower at every tomb before they get caught by the Ghoul. The Ghoul stalks each team as he tries to steal their flowers and hide them. Once the flowers have been placed at the tomb, the Ghoul cannot touch them. If their flowers get taken, the teams have to find them and carry on with their mission. The first team to place all their flowers at the tombs wins.
