Bank Teller Games

In an effort to create responsible future citizens, many games today strive to teach children how to handle their money and balance saving and spending. Below are just a few examples of games aimed at teaching children the basics of personal finance.
  1. Monopoly

    • Children can play as the top hat to earn properties and money.

Monopoly is a classic banking game. The overall object of the game is to become a real estate mogul who successfully puts all of his competitors out of business.

Players are given a set amount of money to begin the game and one player is designated as the banker. This role teaches children counting and how to effectively keep track of large amounts of money.

Each player learns how to balance spending money with saving money for tough times -- landing on Boardwalk with four houses, for example. Overall, the game is a simple, yet effective way to introduce children to money management.

    Bank It!

    • A new bicycle is the ultimate goal in Bank It!

Bank It! is a board game by SimplyFun. The game incorporates saving, earning interest, spending and giving to charity into its repertoire.

The goal is to earn enough money to buy a new bicycle by working different jobs and saving money along the way. Money saved will earn interest when deposited in the bank, but players will also have to deal with unexpected consequences and be encouraged to give to charity.

    Bank Account

    • In Bank Account, players make deposits and write checks from their accounts.

Bank Account by B.E. Publishing is a board game that gets into the very fundamentals of owning a bank account. Players write checks, deposit money, keep track of spending and reconcile their accounts, all in an effort to be the first player to collect $5,000.

The game includes real-life expenses like groceries, medical bills and property taxes. As the game progresses, players earn money from jobs, win scholarships and deposit tax refunds.

    The Great Piggy Bank Adventure

    • This game teaches kids to fill their piggy banks and save for a goal.

The Great Piggy Bank Adventure is a virtual board game by Disney that teaches children about smart financial planning. This game gets into more complex topics such as inflation, investing and diversifying assets.

Children set goals for themselves at the beginning of each level and work to earn enough truffles (piggy currency) to reach those goals.
