Little Romantic Games

If you and your partner are tired of spending date nights watching romantic comedies, it's time to bring the romance to life. Little romantic games can be a fun way to help bring couples closer together. Research has shown that couples who have fun together, stay together longer than those who don't.
  1. A New Twist on an Old Favorite

    • Dust off the board games piled up in the basement and play Scrabble, with a few fun changes. Instead of playing the game using any word in the dictionary, try using ones that pertain to love, intimacy and relationships. It makes the game a bit more challenging and it also gets your partner thinking about romance.

Add a romantic reward for the winner to increase the stakes. The reward could be something like a massage or a kiss.

    The Hunt

    • A scavenger hunt can be romantic and fun. Surprise your partner with a present, but rather than just wrapping it up and handing it over, make it a game. Hide clues around the house (or even around town if you feel particularly ambitious) leading her from one spot to another. Try to make the clues more romantic by relating them to positive memories in your relationship.

    Homemade Newlywed Game

    • Each of you write down 10 questions about your relationship (for example, "where did we go on our first date"). The questions must have only have one right answer. Use one piece of paper per question, and place the pieces of paper into a hat.

Take turns pulling questions, and write the answer on a piece of paper. Set a time limit of 30 seconds and make sure your partner can't see your response. See how many questions you each get right and the one with the most correct answers wins a prize. Make the prize something the two of you can enjoy together like dinner at a nice restaurant or tickets to a concert.

    Couples Truth of Dare

    • This game is great for new couples who are just starting to get to know one another. Ask questions that spark conversation about the person's interests (for example, "where would you travel if you could go anywhere in the world"). Dares will indicate how adventurous and enthusiastic the other person is. You'll learn if he is shy about doing a cartwheel in the middle of the living room or if he jumps up and does a cartwheel with confidence. This game really speeds up the getting-to-know-you phase.
