How to Pickup a 7-10 Split

When bowling, the goal is to finish with the highest score. One thing that can stand in the way of a high score is the dreaded 7-10 split. It is very difficult to pickup a 7-10 split, and doing so can often make the difference between winning and losing a game. Even with the technical knowledge to pick up a 7-10 split it will take lots of practice to be able to consistently perform the action.

Grip the bowling ball, being sure to get a solid grip. You want to have your fingers securely in each hole. Be sure your wrist in not twisted in any way or the ball will end of with a spin that you were not expecting. The back of your hand should be facing the ground and you should be holding the bowling ball ready to throw it down the lane.

Align yourself properly. For a 7-10 split, you will need to align yourself differently than usual. If you are right-handed, you want to aim for the tenth pin, which is the right pin. If you are left-handed, it will be easier for you to aim for the left pin. You want to align your body with the pin you will be aiming for. Try to throw the ball between the second and third arrows from the right (the arrows are painted on the surface of the lane). If you are left-handed, try to throw the ball between the second and third arrows from the left.

Throw the bowling ball hard. You will want to throw the bowling ball as hard as you can without losing your steadiness and accuracy. The reason you want to throw the ball hard is because you want one pin to be hit very hard, with the idea being that the pin that is hit will be knocked into the standing pin at a fast enough speed to know it over.
