Cute Makeup Games

Little girls are constantly emulating their teen and adult counterparts. They view the actions of older females as mysterious, exotic and fascinating. One of the activities that hold the most intrigue is the use of makeup. Though you might not want your daughter, her friends or classmates using an extensive array of beauty products on a daily basis, it is cute for girls to experiment and "play dress-up." There are a number of ways to turn makeup application into a game for young girls. Makeup games are ideal for slumber and birthday parties, daycare groups and play dates.

Home Salon
- Duplicating the salon experience for little girls is fun for adults and kids. Just as you would find at a spa or salon, create stations where girls are given manicures, styled hair and makeup applications. Girls can take turns providing and receiving services. Adult caretakers can take on the service role, applying makeup and styling hair, or allow the kids to apply makeup to each other -- they might end up with cute clown faces, but they'll have a good time.
Makeover Challenge
- Girls might enjoy a bit of friendly competition during their makeup extravaganza. If there are at least four girls, you can plan a makeup challenge. Have pairs of girls apply makeup using various brushes, colors and products and then reverse. Supply a collection of fashion magazines with examples of different makeup styles and challenge the girls to duplicate the looks. When finished, the girls can rate the makeup application based on a variety of categories. Help create a scorecard in advance of the game and include rankings for best color choices, best standout feature and best overall look. Award prizes such as lip-gloss and blush to the winners.
Makeup Grab Bag
- A collection of makeup is needed for makeup grab bag. Girls reach into a bag filled with mystery makeup products and whatever is pulled out is used to create a makeover. You can use several bags and create a bag for lipstick, one for eye-shadow and so on. To make things even more cute, toss all of the makeup into a single bag and allow each girl three picks. Whatever is pulled from the bag is all they can use during the makeover. If you choose only eye-shadow, for instance, the entire makeup application must be done with eye-shadow only, resulting in blue lips or green cheeks.
Crazy Looks
- Little girls like to copy their older counterparts, but they also like to be silly. Plan a wild makeup game with a goal of creating crazy looks. Makeup is available in bold colors such as neon green, yellow and hot pink and some products even contain glitter and sparkle. Girls can create looks that are punk rock, space age or just plain crazy. Once the makeup is applied, take lots of photos so everyone remembers the fun.
