Carrom Directions

Carrom is a game that originated in India and Southeast Asia. For Americans interested in playing this game, it is best described as a hand-held type of pool game. All of the game pieces are placed into a circle in the center of the board with a "queen" piece in the middle. The object of the game is to flick a heavy "striker" piece (similar to a white ball in pool) with your finger and knock the game pieces into the pockets at the corners of the table.

Instructions

    • 1

Set up the game pieces inside the center circle around the queen.

    • 2

Select who goes first by allowing one player to guess which hand the other player is hiding the striker in. If he guesses correctly, then he decides who goes first; otherwise the person hiding the striker decides who goes first.

    • 3

Position the striker along your baseline or at one of the two circles on the sides of the board.

    • 4

Flick the striker with your hand, aiming for your assigned color pieces.

    • 5

End the first turn when the player does not pocket a piece.

    • 6

Repeat turns until all pieces and the queen are pocketed. The winner is whoever pockets all of their pieces first.
