Disco Partner Freeze
Each player must select a partner and head out on the dance floor or a mark off dance area. Play some '70s music and have the players dance with their partners. When the music stops, all players must immediately freeze. Any player caught moving or smiling while the music is off is out of the game. Players cannot move until you start the music again. To make it hard, pause for a long period of time to throw some people off and try to make them laugh. Award a prize to the last couple standing.
Disco Dance Contest
Create a disco dance contest for your party guests to see who has the moves. Play music from popular artists from the '70s like the Village People, Queen, Donna Summer, Temptations and the Commodores. Have the players dance in groups or individually. Award prizes to the best '70 disco dancers.
Disco Ball Relay Race
Divide the players into two teams and have the players line up in a single file line facing the back of the teammate in front of them. Hand the first player in each team line a toy or inflatable disco ball. When you say, "Go," the players must pass the disco ball over and under all the way down the team line. For example, one player will pass it over his head and the next player must pass it through his legs. The first team to pass the disco ball all the way down the team line and back to the first player in line wins the game.
Pet Rock Contest
The pet rock was a pop culture fad in the '70s. Have a contest to see who can create the best pet rock. Give each player a smooth river rock. River rocks are available online and at many craft store. The players can use tempera paint and paintbrushes to create a pet rock. Give the players 30 minutes to complete their rocks. Award prizes for the best, funniest, silliest, most creative and scariest pet rocks.
