Identification
Typically used in portable video game systems, a Supercard is a flash memory card that has the ability to hold up to four gigabytes of information. Additionally, the data it stores, such as a GBA type game, can be easily retrieved within five seconds of activating the game program.
Features
The Supercard and the Mini SD technology, another form of memory card, are compatible with each other, and are often used as a combined pair. The Supercard takes advantage of the large memory provided by the Mini SD, as well as its compatibility with different products. Games stored in the Supercard can be transferred through Mini SD ready slots to computers or other game consoles.
Considerations
Since all Supercards are compatible with Mini SD cards, they are used interchangeably for different devices, saving the consumer from having to purchase multiple card types. The versatility of Supercards allows them to store electronic books and music, and can still be placed in a digital camera to hold pictures.
