Skeleton Hunt
Randomly choose a killer as your guests arrive. Write clues as to the identity of the killer on a number of plastic, paper mache or Styrofoam bones; hair color, eye color, favorite hobby, favorite color or any commonly known fact about the person can be used. Hide the bones around the party area. Challenge guests to locate the bones and discover the killer. For an added twist, allow the killer to hide the bones in a new spot should he or she discover them first. Guests will be required to work with each other to piece together the puzzle, even while being suspicious of the killer's identity.
Ghost Hunter
Choose one guest to be the ghost. Hand every guest a bag with a mysterious substance in it. Substances can include wet noodles, gelatin, pudding, chunky soup, stewed tomatoes or other items that might have an unpleasant texture. Each bag will conceal a small clue to the identity of the ghost; it could be a plastic army figure if the victim is a soldier, a blue marble that looks like an eye if the victim has blue eyes, or any other item that can be directly related to the victim. Guests will mingle, feel the mysterious substances and try to determine who the ghost is. The ghost also gets a bag so as not to draw suspicion.
Hot Sauce!
Purchase a different bottle of hot sauce for each guest. Choose hot sauces that are close to each other in consistency. Empty out a tablespoon or two of one variety of hot sauce, just enough to be able to tell that it's been used, and leave the other bottles full. Remove any plastic wrapping on the bottles, so that the bottles all look as if they have been opened at least once. Randomly assign each player a bottle. The player who gets bottle that isn't completely full is the killer. Guests mingle throughout the night, trying to determine who is the killer. Killers cannot conceal their bottles; they must hold them or set them down. You can write names on the bottles to avoid identity confusion.
Boa Constrictor
Purchase a number of feathers, all of the same bright, distinctive color. Choose one guest to be the killer; you can do this ahead of time, or as guests arrive. Give the killer the feathers and a roll of tape. Throughout the night, the killer will tape the feathers onto the clothes of other quests. If the killer is successful, the feathered guest becomes a victim, and as soon as the feather is spotted by another guest, the feathered guest acts out a death scene and is out of the game. The victim cannot identify the killer, but you may, depending on your personal rules, allow clues. If the killer is caught while attaching the feather, the killer is identified and the game is over.
