Action Fraction
Action Fraction is a game presented by the Kaboose Fun School website. The game involves adding and subtracting fractions. The game is set on a racetrack. Kids answer questions to get their race car moving. The quicker the questions are correctly answered, the faster the car races ahead. If players answer wrongly or do not answer quickly enough, their race car will stall, while the other cars in the race make progress.
Fraction Balls
Fraction Balls can be played on three levels: regular, challenging and pro. The game is played by matching a fraction in number form on a ball with the corresponding stack on the bottom of the screen. The stacks contain blocks, some of which are filled in and some that are not. Those are the fractions. The ball swings across the top of the game screen. The player releases it with the space bar when it is positioned over the corresponding stack.
Pizza Party
Pizza Party is a simple game in which players are shown a pizza pie that has been sliced. Beneath the pizza are four fractions. Players then must choose the fraction that represents how much of the pizza pie is left. As the game is played, the pizza slices get thinner, and the fractions get more complex.
Melvin's Make a Match
In the PBS Kids game Melvin's Make a Match, kids help Melvin unscramble his potions. Each bottle has a perfect match that weighs the same. The perfect match also has an identical fraction on it, written in a different way. Example: A circle half filled in is a perfect match for a fraction with a numerator of 1 and a denominator of 2 (meaning 1/2). After kids answer, the two chosen bottles are placed on a scale to see if they match.
