Duck, Duck, Goose
This game is ideal for younger kids looking to play a simple game. Have a group of kids sit in a circle. Have one kid stand up and be the tagger. As he walks around the circle, instruct him to tap each kid on the head. After tapping a head, he will either say "duck" or "goose." If he says "duck," nothing happens. If he says "goose," the person must jump up and race the tagger around the circle. The first person to reach the empty seat gets in the circle. The player left out becomes the tagger.
Hide and Seek
Hide and seek is a classic indoor game that can be played with two or more people. Start by choosing someone to be the seeker. Once this person is chosen, the rest of the players hide in different parts of the house. Have the seeker stand in a corner and count to 30. Once she's finished counting, have her wander around the house, looking for the people who are hiding. The last person found wins.
Indoor Foot Volleyball
This variation of a classic volleyball game is ideal for kids looking to stay active and have fun. After clearing an area for play, tie a piece of string a few feet off the ground to two stationary objects well out of the way. Once the string is taut, divide your friends into two even-numbered teams. Have them support themselves on the ground with only hands and feet. Throw a balloon in the mix and have the teams work together to kick the balloon back and forth over the net. If the ball lands on the other team's side, the other team gets a point.
Tag
A game of tag can be played indoors or in your back yard, depending on your preference. Choose one kid to be "it." Once you start the game, have the tagger chase all of the other kids around your back yard or house. If someone is tagged, they become "it." Continue having kids chase each other until there's one player left who isn't "it." From here, the game resets.
