List of Lifetime Wishes in The Sims 3

In "The Sims 3," the lifetime wish is very much like a goal for your Sim to reach. The wish matches the Sim's personality and, once it is achieved, gives them lifetime happiness points. Although your Sim's lifetime wish is selected when he or she is created -- or when a teen Sim becomes an adult -- you can change the wish using the Change Lifetime Wish reward. Your Sim only gets one, though, and you can't change it once you've achieved it.

Level 10 Career Wishes
- Eleven of the lifetime wishes involve reaching level 10 in a career path. Once you reach these wishes, you will get 30,000 lifetime happiness points. Three of the careers -- music, law and criminal -- have two level 10 lifetime wishes because these careers offer two different paths. Music career Sims can pursue the wish of becoming a Rock Star -- rock path -- or a Hit Movie Composer -- symphonic path. If your Sim is on the law path, the wish could be either to become a Forensic Specialist -- forensics path -- or an International Super Spy -- special agent path. The criminal pathway offers two lifetime wishes that are worth 32,500 lifetime happiness points: become a Master Thief -- thief path -- or the Emperor of Evil -- evil path. The other career wishes are Astronaut -- military, Five-Star Chef -- culinary, Leader of the Free World -- political, Star News Anchor -- journalism, and World-Renowned Surgeon -- medical.
Other Career Wishes
- Not all the career wishes in "The Sims 3" involve reaching the top. The Jack of All Trades wish requires your Sim to reach level 5 in four different careers. If you choose to Become a Creature-Robot Cross Breeder, you only need to reach level 9 of the science career path. Sports-minded Sims only need to reach level 9 in their careers to Become a Superstar Athlete. Business careers have it the easiest. The wish to become a CEO of a Mega-Corporation is reached at level 8.
Relationship Wishes
- Four of the lifetime wishes involve having, or ending, one or more relationships. The Super Popular wish requires you to have 20 friends, and the Heartbreaker wish involves having 10 boyfriends or girlfriends. The Surrounded by Family wish requires your Sim to raise five babies from infant to teen. Adopted babies do count toward this wish. If you like to be a little wicked, the Gold Digger wish requires your Sim to see the ghost of a rich dead spouse. In other words, your Sim must marry well and then either outlive or kill his or her spouse. Once the spouse has died, you just have to wait for the ghost to visit, which it will as long as you keep the body on the lot.
Money Wishes
- There are three lifetime wishes that involve money. Living in the Lap of Luxury is reached once your Sim family has a net worth of $100,000. The net worth adds up the property value, value of household items and any cash on hand. The Swimming in Cash wish is very similar, except it won't count the value of the property or household items. It requires your Sim to have $50,000 on hand. The Professional Author wish requires your Sim to earn at least $4,000 a week in royalties from writing. Expect to write several books before you'll come close to reaching this wish.
Collecting Wishes
- Three lifetime wishes involve improving your Sims skills so they can collect specific items. For example, The Perfect Garden requires your Sim to have eight different perfect plants on his or her lot at one time. This means your Sim will have to have a very high gardening skill to achieve it. The Presenting the Perfect Private Aquarium requires your Sim to have 13 perfect fish in fish bowls around the house. The fish must be alive to achieve this wish, so don't forget to feed them. The Culinary Librarian wish requires your Sim to have all the different cooking recipes. This means your Sim will have to have a level 10 cooking skill to have all the recipes available at the book store for purchasing.
Logic Wishes
- Logic seems to be a highly-prized skill in "The Sims 3" because three lifetime wishes involve maxing it out. The Tinkerer involves maxing out both the logic and the handiness skill. The Perfect Mind, Perfect Body wish requires your Sim to have level 10 in both athletic and logic. Finally, Chess Legend requires your Sim to max his or her logic and then reach Grand Master, fifth level, in pro chess.
Other Skill Wishes
- Logic is not the only prized skill. To achieve the Renaissance Sim wish, your Sim has to max out three skills -- any three skills. If your Sim likes to paint, the Master of the Arts requires a level 10 in painting and guitar skills, while the Illustrious Author involves maxing out the painting and writing skills. For Golden Tongue/Golden Fingers, a Sim must max out the charisma and the guitar skills.
