How to Protect Games in Shoe Boxes

Shoe boxes are simple to stack, sturdy and readily available. Although many are a standard size, there are larger shoe boxes for boots and smaller shoe boxes for children's shoes. It is also possible to purchase transparent, plastic shoe boxes. Regardless of the type of shoe boxes you have, they are perfect for storing games.

Instructions

    • 1

Separate the game pieces by type and place them in a small plastic bag or CD sleeve. For example, put all place markers in one bag, all cards in one bag and each denomination of money in its own bag. If you are storing video games, you can put them each in their own sleeve.

    • 2

Use a marker to write the name of each video game on its sleeve. For board game pieces, place a label on each bag and write on it the game that corresponds to the pieces in the bag. This will allow you to store pieces for multiple games in the same box.

    • 3

Identify the games stored inside each shoe box by listing them on one side of each shoe box. Stack the boxes on a shelf so the shoe box content list is visible.
