Rags to Riches
In the game Rags to Riches presented by Quia, players can win a million dollars (in the game). Players are asked a question and given four possible answers, one of which is the correct one. If players are stumped, they can use one of the three hints provided for each game. A hint will expose one of the incorrect options. After 15 successful rounds, players become millionaires.
The game is appropriate for older children and adults because it starts with one- and two-digit numbers and works up to five-digit numbers.
Moon Math Subtraction
Moon Math Subtraction is a game where players take on the role of a space scientist selected to land a module on the moon. Players must use the arrow keys to position the module over each of the six green pads to proceed to the next level.
During the mission, players must keep the module well-fueled by landing on the pads marked "fuel." Here's where the subtraction comes in--after landing on the fuel pad, players must solve a subtraction problem before they can refuel. If answered correctly, they can proceed until they need to refuel again. If answered incorrectly, players cannot continue game play until they correctly answer the question.
Minus Mission
In Minus Mission, players must stop the green ooze from reaching the bottom of the screen. The four droplets of ooze have subtraction problems on them. Players have a laser with a number, an answer to one of the four problems, on it. Players must use the numbered laser to shoot the subtraction problem that it answers. Then a new number will appear on the laser, with the answer to another problem.
At the end of the game a recap is given listing the number of hits and misses, and the correct answers to the problems players missed.
Soccer Shootout
Soccer Shootout can be played with whole numbers or fractions. There are also addition, subtraction and multiplication versions of the game. Players answer various math questions to either "shoot" and score points for their home team, or "block" the other team.
