Love and War
Love and War is a romantic variation of the card game War for couples. The rules for Love and War are similar to traditional War, with the two players receiving half of a deck of cards and taking turns laying down cards to see who has the higher value. The additional rule in Love and War that sets it apart from the classic card game is that the winner of each round gets to ask a question to the loser, who must answer truthfully. Playing Love and War allows couples to learn more about one another.
Love Scrabble
The game of Scrabble pits players against one another in a competition to see who can make the highest-scoring words out of their random letter tiles. Love Scrabble is a variation in which a player must use the word he is playing in a sentence about loving his partner or about a positive aspect of their relationship. Any word is allowed as long as it conforms to the Scrabble rules of no proper nouns, initials or abbreviations. However, the couple must use their creativity to turn words like "stink" into sentences like "My life would stink if you were not in it."
Find Your Mate
This is a game for multiple couples to share a bonding experience together. Start the game by separating the couples and giving each a blindfold or a paper bag to wear on their heads. Bring the couples into a play area that has been cleared of obstructions and have a few people on hand to make sure nobody is hurt. This game tests couples to see how well they know each other by touch so they must find their missing half without the use of their eyes and without making any sound. Ask players to focus on touching just the arms to avoid inappropriate contact. This also creates the possibility for partners to feel for jewelry or a wedding ring as an identifier.
The Newlywed Game
The Newlywed Game is based on the popular game show of the same name and pits couples against one another to see who knows the most about their partner. You and your partner can play the game by yourselves to determine who knows the other one the best. In the Newlywed Game, a game moderator asks your partner a question, who writes down the answer and then you have to guess what that answer may be. When playing alone, take turns reading the cards to one another and write your answers at the same time.To win, you have to have the most correct guesses at the end of the game.
